First Bitten - new cover

Hey y’all, I have decided to change the cover for ‘First Bitten’. A couple of reasons … I loved my original cover, but the cover came from a stock photo which means other authors have access to also use this picture for their cover. This one in particular has proven popular among many authors because it is such a striking picture. The problem I was facing was book confusion over the cover, often getting questions from readers about it. With ‘Original Sin’ coming out for release soon, it seemed like a good time to change ‘First Bitten’s’ cover. -Poppet Author has worked her magic again and has created me this stunning cover, utilising the original picture, but also making it line with the ‘Original Sin’ cover.

My publisher very kindly upload the new cover to Amazon late last night, so it is now up, but I’ve attached it below for you all to see :)

Okay ... so here it is ... the official book cover for Original Sin!! Designed by my very good friend and fellow author, Poppet.

I am completely in love with this book cover!!!

And am now ridiculously excited for release day! Mark your diaries for the 28th May 2012 boys and girls ... Original Sin will be hitting those shelves!!!!

Blown away...!

It's pretty much a given that I, as an author love receiving reviews, and appreciate every single one - especially those 5 star ones! But every once in a while, a reviewer comes along and totally blows me away!!

Original Sin news!

So I've set myself a deadline for my editing part on Original Sin to be done by … and (hopefully!) depending on my awesome beta/editor/general all round awesome person, that I give her plenty of time to check it over, then I have to sort book covers, etc… I’m hoping to have Original Sin out for … w/c 28th May!!

So you may not see me around much over the next few weeks, but I will keep you updated as to the progress but come hell or high water, I promise I will have Nathan and Alex in your hands very soon!! <3

Original Sin

Here's a little taster of my upcoming novel 'Original Sin' the next in the Alexandra Jones series, which will be released later this year. I hope you enjoy it ...


Nathan catches hold of my arm from behind as I’m racing past the barn, yanking me to an abrupt stop.

 Tears are streaming down my face. I don’t hide the fact. I want him to see how much that hurt. “Let me go!” I cry angrily.

 But he doesn’t let go. And the next thing I know his mouth is on mine, fast and hard, kissing me with an almost dependency. 

 I fight him for all of about a second.

 Nathan backs me into the barn until I’m up against the door of a truck parked in there. His hands are everywhere, mouths roaming, clothes being lifted, unbuttoned. I can barely keep up.

 Nathan pulls on the door handle. Locked. “Shit,” he utters breathless. His eyes scan the barn. “Wait a sec.”

 Untangling himself from me, leaving me wanting and breathless, he goes over to the tool bench and returns with a hammer. Shifting me aside, I watch wide eyed, as he smashes the driver’s window out, puts his arm in and unlocks the door.

 “What?” he asks innocently, desire still stoking his eyes.

 “Is this yours?”

 He shakes his head. “Craig’s.”

 “Are you crazy? He’s gonna go mad!”

 An almost smile. “I’m all kinds of crazy.” He drops the hammer to the floor with a clatter and moves closer. “But mostly, I’m just crazy about you.”

 Something in my stomach drops then coils lower.

 The little space there was left between us he eliminates and his mouth is on mine again. I wrap my arms around his neck.

 He reaches behind me and opens the door to the back seat. He lifts me in. I shuffle back as he climbs in, straddling me, he shuts the door with a clunk.

 And then it’s just us. Alone. In the back seat of a truck.
